We decided to check out the sweet trails in Vernal, UT for our annual end-of-season trip. We (almost) shut the shop down for 3 days last week and 6 of us headed a short and easy 3 hours west on highway 40 until we hit Vernal! We were on the trail by 2:30 after driving out and setting up camp at Steinaker State Park and Reservoir. We rode all three days and enjoyed the beautiful weather and even better trails. First day we rode the Jass/Chrome Molly trail near Red Fleet Reservoir. The next day we went out to the McCoy Flats area west of town, parked at “The Corral” and rode 3 different loops. On the third day we went out to ride Red Mountain which was a first for all of us and a very welcome surprise. Sweet slickrock descent, we can’t wait to get back to Utah!! Check out the YouTube video below of the Jass/Chrome Molly trail, I apologize for the cheesy music!! Just click on the YouTube link below!!
We all agree that the Vernal area locals have done an impressive amount of work to put in the seemingly endless trails and the potential is equally endless!! These guys deserve props!! Stop in at Altitude Cycles right on Hwy 40 and say hi, and make sure to check out their sweet bathroom!!
